Lista kandidata za 2010 Svetski automobil godine

Nakon što je na ovogodišnjem Salonu automobila u Njujorku saopšteno da je Volkswagen Golf VI dobitnik priznanja Svetski automobil godine ("2009 World Car of the Year" – WCOTY), već su počele i pripreme za naredni, sedmi izbor, i to objavljivanjem preliminarne liste kandidata.

O pobedniku (čije ime će takođe biti objavljeno na Salonu u Njujoruku, u aprilu naredne godine) će odlučiti žiri od 45 članova (većinom automobilski novinari), a da bi uopšte mogli da se nađu na listi, automobili kandidati moraju da se prodaju u bar pet zemalja i na bar dva kontinenta.

Inače, pobednik za 2008. godinu je bila nova Mazda2, na nekim tržištima poznata i kao Mazda Demio. Pobednik za 2007. je bio Lexus LS460, 2006. godine to je bio BMW serije 3, a 2005. titulu je osvojio Audi A6.
